What are some good pc laptops?

my birthdays coming up and i'd like to go buy a macbook but the cheapest they come is 850ish and that's a little out of my price range.so what's a pc with the same smooth operating mechanics and appealing ui? preferably with a camera and fair flash memory. thanks for any suggestion!
