Are diplomatic missions no longer relevant and should be abolished in the era of technological globalization?

this means that...diplomatic missions will be either abolished or not in a way that we are in the era of high technology...diplomats can communicate other delegates via internet...but the question is...are you against in the statement or not? and why?
