How did the laws of settler in the frontier regions reveal a strong racial or ethnic discrimination?
white settlers believed in manifest destiny-that is,whatever they wanted-land,gold,silver,etc-was theirs for the taking. The majority of whites believed the Indians were morally inferior, and it was the whites' duty to save them.It also meant their land was ripe for the taking. Indians did not look upon land as something to own,but whites had always had a "my" mindset.----In the southwest,Indians and Mexicans were looked upon as heathens, and in California the Asians did work no white man would do.
