Can you ask to get into airborne school if it is not in your INFANTRY contract? US ARMY?

so i signed the papers, i got into 11x , no airborne option, and the even tho i know it is not up to her, but the recruiter said that , i can ask to get into airborne school while iam at the OSUT which is going to be in january 2011, so do you think this is right? or do i have to ask for it in the actuall contract that i will have to sign a day before i leave to BCT when iam at the meps? thank you respekt
